There is metered street parking all throughout Downtown Ann Arbor. Metered parking has different time limits (between 2 to 3 hours).

RECOMMENDED DRIVING DIRECTIONS:
For visitors coming from more than 5 miles away to Downtown Ann Arbor, we suggest the following options for easy navigation, parking, and timely arrival:

Option 1: Via US-23 and Washtenaw Avenue

  • Take US-23 to the Washtenaw Avenue exit.

  • Follow Washtenaw Avenue as it becomes E. Huron Street.

  • At E. Huron and S. 5th Avenue, turn left.

  • For parking, turn left at Washington Street follow all the way down to Liberty Square Garage, or continue to E. Liberty, turn left, then right on Maynard Street for the Maynard Garage near Hop Cat.

Option 2: Via US-23 Business to M-14

  • Follow US-23 Business to M-14, take the Main Street Exit.

  • Go left on E. Huron Street from N. Main Street.

  • Then, as in Option 1, turn right on S. 5th Avenue and left onto Washington Street follow to Liberty Square Garage, OR continue to E. Liberty, turn left, then right on Maynard Street for the Maynard Garage near Hop Cat.

Option 3: Via I-94 and Jackson Road

  • Take the Jackson Road exit from I-94.

  • Follow Jackson Road, which leads onto E. Huron Street.

  • Right on S. 5th Avenue and left onto Washington Street follow to Liberty Square Garage, OR continue to E. Liberty, turn left, then right on Maynard Street for the Maynard Garage near Hop Cat.

Option 4: Via S. State Street or Packard to Division

  • Approach via S. State Street or Packard until you reach the three-way intersection at Division.

  • To reach Maynard Garage, turn right at Division and E. Liberty.

  • For Liberty Square Garage, turn right at Division and Washington.

Be aware that this route passes through student housing areas, which may result in denser pedestrian and vehicle traffic. This path is less recommended for those coming from more than 5 miles away, particularly during peak hours (9-10 AM; 4-5 PM; Football Saturday Home Games; other UMICH Special Events).
